We’ll begin with a free phone or virtual consultation to answer questions, explore your needs, and see if we’re a good fit. If we decide to move forward, we’ll schedule an intake session.
For child therapy, the first intake is with parents or caregivers only, followed by a session with the child and one parent or caregiver.
For adult therapy, the intake focuses on your background, current concerns, and goals for therapy.
My office is located at 12 Bellwether Way, Suite 220 in Bellingham, Washington. There is an elevator as well as free parking readily available. I also am able to offer virutal sessions to adults or teens located throughout Washington state.
I do not accept insurance in order to provide the highest level of care possible. Working outside of insurance allows me to focus treatment solely on your needs, rather than on insurance requirements such as diagnostic labeling, treatment limits, or session restrictions. It also allows for greater privacy, as insurance companies require access to personal clinical information in order to authorize and reimburse care.
Although I do not accept insurance directly, I can provide monthly superbills upon request. Clients may submit these to their insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement, depending on their plan.
I believe that access to therapy should not be limited by financial circumstances. My standard session fee is $150 (50 minutes) and $175 for initial intake. I reserve a limited number of reduced-rate ($100) appointments for individuals who may need them. If financial concerns are a barrier to starting or continuing therapy, I encourage you to reach out so we can discuss options. All inquiries are handled with respect and confidentiality.
Please notify me at least 24 hours in advance if you will be unable to make your appointment. No shows or late cancellations will be billed at the regular rate. If you or your child are not feeling well, telehealth may be an option.
Health providers are required to give an estimate of expected costs as part of the No Suprises Act which took effect in 2022. I will provide you with a copy when we begin working together and on an annual basis after that. For more information please visit - https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
