At New Heart Therapy, I offer a grounded, compassionate space for children, teens, and adults to explore their emotional world, navigate life’s challenges, and reconnect with a greater sense of internal safety and steadiness.
My work is rooted in a neuroaffirming, nervous system–informed approach, supporting healing through safety, attunement, and connection rather than pressure or performance. Together, we focus on understanding your experiences with care and curiosity, while supporting meaningful regulation and change over time.
I’m Andrea McLaughlin, licensed mental health therapist and founder of New Heart Therapy.
I’m passionate about walking alongside children, teens, and adults as they navigate life’s challenges and move toward greater healing, connection, and resilience. I believe that healing happens in relationship—in a space where you feel safe, understood, and supported.
With over 15 years of experience supporting youth and families in schools and community settings, I bring both clinical knowledge and compassionate care to the therapy process. My work is grounded in a holistic, nervous system–informed approach, with specialized training in anxiety, grief, child therapy, nutrition and mental health, and nervous system regulation.
My goal is to create a warm, supportive space where clients feel empowered to better understand themselves, strengthen regulation, and move toward meaningful and lasting change.
I take a holistic, integrative approach to therapy, drawing from a variety of modalities and tailoring them to each person’s needs, pace, and goals.
Depending on the client, therapy may include:
nervous system–informed and somatic approaches
mindfulness and grounding practices
expressive arts and creativity
play based therapy (for children)
sandtray work
music and bibliotherapy
cognitive-behavioral and skills-based strategies
At the heart of my work is a belief that healing happens through relationship, attunement, and felt safety—not pressure or perfection.
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone.
I offer a complimentary 15-minute phone or virtual consultation to answer your questions, learn more about what you’re looking for, and explore whether working together feels like the right fit.
