At New Heart Therapy, the name says it all. A “new heart” represents renewal, resilience, and the courage to embrace life with strength and hope. Therapy here is not about fixing what’s broken—it’s about creating space for healing, growth, and connection with yourself and others.
I’m Andrea McLaughlin, licensed mental health therapist and founder of New Heart Therapy. My passion is walking alongside people as they navigate life’s challenges and discover new ways forward. I believe that healing happens in relationship—in a space where you feel safe, understood, and supported.
I have over 15 years of experience supporting youth and families with their mental health in various roles within schools and the community. I have specialized training in anxiety, grief, child therapy, nutrition and mental health, as well as nervous system regulation.
Life brings challenges—anxiety, grief, health changes, or simply the weight of daily demands. Therapy can be a place to pause, reflect, and begin again.
I believe every person is unique, and there’s no one-size-fits-all path to healing. I draw from a variety of approaches—including creative arts, mindfulness, somatic practices, strengths-based therapy, play, sand tray, music, and cognitive-behavioral techniques—and tailor them to each client’s needs.
My style is warm, collaborative, and holistic. Together, we work toward helping you or your child:
Process and make sense of emotions
Develop healthier, more supportive coping strategies
Support overall well-being of both mind and body
Strengthen relationships and self-trust
Feel more grounded, connected, and resilient in daily life
Taking the first step toward therapy can feel daunting—but you don’t have to do it alone. I offer a free 15-minute phone or virtual consultation to see if we’re a good fit and to discuss any questions you have.
